In June we reported that the Sheridan Economic and Education Development Authority Joint Powers Board elected to take part in a site certification program through the Wyoming Business Council. The site selection firm of McCallum Sweeney is traveling around the state evaluating property in various communities for industrial development. Wednesday, the firm was in Sheridan to meet with key stakeholders and to tour the High-Tech Business Park in north Sheridan.
Senior Consultant Lindsey Myers with McCallum Sweeney explains what they will do with the information collected from their visit to Sheridan.
Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey says that the site certification program is necessary if the City wants to attract data centers to the area.
The site certification program that SEEDA is taking part in is being funded jointly through the Wyoming Business Council and one-cent contingency funds for economic development from the City.
