The Sheridan Heritage Center Board of Trustees has announced that the Sheridan Inn and 1893 Grille and Spirits will cease operations effective October 1st. In a media release issued by the Sheridan Heritage Center, it states that the economic downturn severely impacted fundraising efforts to complete the renovation of the upper floors of the Inn, which in turn, eliminated the possibility of generating revenue from the Inn operating as a functioning hotel. The 1893 Grille was unable to provide enough revenue to maintain the Inn.
The release further states that the Heritage Center will continue to focus on raising the funds necessary to make the $100,000 payment to Wyoming Bank & Trust due in January 2013, as well as raising the funds to maintain the loan payments on the $1.4 million loan and complete the upper floors. Approximately $2 million is needed to finish the upper floors and open the hotel rooms to overnight guests.
The Heritage Center will be holding two question and answer sessions in the lobby of the Sheridan Inn on September 12th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on September 15th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
