The Sheridan High School students bring home the trophy in the annual Broncs / Camels blood drive challenge.

The numbers are in, and the results bode well for Sheridan High School. In February, SHS and the Sheridan community went up against Gillette High School and their community for the annual blood drive challenge. Gillette won last year, but it was all “Broncs Bleed Blue” for 2011, says Lesli Asay with United Blood Services of Billings.

The high school challenge is held at the beginning of each year, and SHS will participate in a non-challenge blood drive in April. Asay says UBS loves coming to Sheridan.

Winners of this regional challenge, Asay says that the traveling trophy that has been housed at Gillette High School will now be on display at Sheridan High School. Eight schools compete for the state challenge, and the winner this year was the students at Rock Springs High School, who donated 245 red cells.
