The "best of the best" vocal and band students have been hard at work at Sheridan High School this weekend for the 2010 NE Wyoming District Music Festival. Sheridan Media's Mary Jo Johnson has the story.

Music students from Sheridan, Tongue River, Big Horn, Arvada-Clearmont, Buffalo, Kaycee, Gillette, Wright, Moorcroft, Upton and Newcastle represent the NE District. Janet Ruleaux is the choir director at Big Horn High School and she explains the purpose of the two-day event.

Ruleaux explains how the musicians and vocalists are selected.

The band clinician hails from the University of Wyoming, while the All-District choir director is from Chadron State College. Here is a sample from both the choir and band rehearsals.

The public is invited to a free concert this afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Sheridan High School gym to hear the fruits of these two groups' hard work over the past two days.

Covering yet another example of talent from our Wyoming students, for sheridanmedia.com news, this is Mary Jo Johnson reporting.
