Managers at the Shoshone National Forest say they intend to start revising the forest management plan again early next year. Reports indicate that a draft plan could be finished by spring 2012. It will govern forest management for the next 15 years. The revision process began five years ago, but has been disrupted by court rulings that affected federal regulations. The county commissions of Park, Fremont and Hot Springs counties as well as many local conservation districts are asking the Forest Service to revisit some of the original planning documents because of changes in forest conditions, including more trees killed by beetles.
