Sheridan's annual online auction is open for bids until Thursday.
Dozens of businesses in Sheridan are participating in the auction, hoping to foster friendly competition among Sheridan's bidders.
Julie Chadwick, auction administrator, said the event is designed to make a liaison between businesses and the local community.
Chadwick said Sheridan's community auction is designed to be user friendly and keep bidders informed on their bids until closing.
Items up for dibs include big-ticket items, like cars and hunting equipment, all the way down to small things, such as jewelry or gift certificates. Chadwick said many businesses offer items for the auction and willingly take a loss in exchange for publicity.
