This month's statistics from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services report Sheridan's unemployment rate at 6.3 percent.
From May to June, most counties in the state saw unemployment rates rise. An explanation provided by the department suggests large number of young people leave school at that time and enter the workforce. Compared to a year earlier, most county unemployment rates decreased slightly.
One of the largest decreases in unemployment occurred in Johnson county, which went from 6.4 to 6 percent. Lincoln County p9osted the highest unemployment rate in June t 7.1 percent, and Sublette County had the least, at 3.5.
