At their Monday night meeting, the Sheridan City Planning Commission unanimously approved a request to rezone nearly three acres near the Sheridan County Fairgrounds from an R-3 residential zone to a B-1 business zone.

The 2.6 acre plot, located just southwest of West 5th Street and Kentucky Avenue, is surrounded by a variety of developments. Planning and Development Director Robert Briggs.

Briggs explains what the differences are between the two zones - and what residents can expect if the changes are adopted by the city council.

The planning commission also unanimously approved a request to vacate easements in the Bridgecreek Planned Unit Development on Amanda Lane to allow two attached garages as well as an additional, separate garage.

Though both approved by the planning commission, these recommendations will now be passed on to the city council for discussion and ultimate approval.
