Beginning July 1st, the Sheridan Police Department will be conducting VIN and HIN inspections on a schedule basis only. Currently the P.D. does inspections pretty much anytime throughout the week.
Lieutenant Chris Dahmke tells us the days and times that they will be switching to in little over a week.
Dahmke explains why they are going to a schedule system.
Inspections will be conducted in the parking lot on the west side of the Police Department building. Dahmke said that appropriate signage will be present during the times of the inspections to help direct the public on exactly where to go.
A listing of the days and times that the Police Department will be doing VIN and HIN inspections beginning July 1st can be found below.
Mondays- 10 am- 1 pm
Wednesdays- 3 pm- 6pm
Fridays- 1 pm- 3 pm
Note: On the Sheriff's Office side of the building, they are still doing VINS and HINS as needed and with no specific times or days.
Sheriff Dave Hofmeier indicates that they will do the inspections any time the public needs them done; however, he asks the public to be patient as they expect an increase in the number of inspections they'll be conducting.
