A story published last month by Sheridan Media was subsequently picked up by an International parent company of a local entity that was featured.
The story concerned local alcohol sales and service retailers in Buffalo that had completed their TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) training and were receiving their Certificates of Recognition.
Bill Hawley, Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator for Johnson County, explains who the parent organization is and what TIPS does locally.
Hawley said Health Communications, Inc. decided to use Sheridan Media's story in their International Newsletter to feature the local TIPS program and its accomplishments.
More than 225,000 people in 37 countries involved with the TIPS program will see the story in their newsletter.
