Three people from Sheridan Media have been nominated for this year's Chamber of Commerce leadership awards.
Owner Kim Love has been nominated for Business Person of the Year, which is an honor bestowed to someone who demonstrates outstanding leadership and makes substantial contributions to the community.
The other two are Jim Schellinger and Gene Sturlin. Schellinger's up for the Spirit of Sheridan award, which is given to an outstanding volunteer.
Sturlin is in the Strength of Sheridan nominees, which is the honor given to a business member who has supported the chamber and community for 20 or more years.
The announcement comes from the chamber's Marketing Director Meredith Sopko. The award winners will be announced Wednesday, during this month's Chamber Luncheon, to be held at the Sheridan Holiday Inn. The event starts at 11:30 and the public is welcome to attend. The cost for the dinner is $15.
The Chamber's Business of the Year will also be announced, during the luncheon. According to the chamber director, that's an award given to a Chamber member business that serves the Sheridan area in the finest way possible by offering exceptional customer service and presenting a positive atmosphere for their customers, clients and the community, as a whole.
