Planning and Development Director Robert Briggs announced at Tuesday's meeting of the Sheridan Planning Commission that there is a new opening on the commission. Briggs explains.

Chair of the Planning Commission and newly elected city council member, Shelleen Smith, says the position is a great opportunity and jumping off point for someone interested in public service.

Briggs says that applicants should include a brief biography of themselves and explain why they are interested in serving on the commission.

Again, if you know of anyone who is interested in serving - or are yourself - letters of interest can be sent to Mayor Dave Kinskey at City Hall. The mailing address is 55 East Grinnell Plaza in Sheridan.

The opening came about after Kristin Kelly stepped down from her position on the commission to fulfill the obligations of being a newly appointed member of the Sheridan City Council.
