Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey addresses legislators at Thursday's legislative forum.

The two-day legislative forum sponsored by the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee wrapped up Thursday. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.

One of the highlights of day two consisted of Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey updating the local legislators on the financial situation of the City.

Kinskey stated that since the City's General Fund is driven by sales and use tax revenues; they've had to make a number of cuts over the last three years just to keep the budget in the black.

When asked by Representative Rosie Berger why Sheridan isn't experiencing an economic rebound as other cities around the state, the Mayor replied that to the best of his knowledge it appears that most of it has to do with the continuing decline of the CBM industry in the area.
