Sheridan Man Sentenced in U.S. District Court of Wyoming

A 63-year-old Sheridan man was sentenced to eight months in prison for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Wayne Allen McAlpin was sentenced in U.S. District Court of Wyoming by Chief Federal District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal.

McAlpin will also have to be on three years of supervised probation following his release from prison. McAlpin was arrested in Sheridan after an investigation by the Bureau of Alchohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Also from U.S. District Court in Cheyenne, 23-year-old Oscar Chavira of Gillette was sentenced to 63 months in prison by Freudenthal for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute; and to Distribute Methamphetamine and Cocaine.

Chavira was also placed under four years of supervised probation following his release. He was arrested in Cheyenne after an investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
