Sheridan Man Pleads Guilty To Burglary Charges

A 20-year-old Sheridan man pleaded guilty to burglary charges in 4th Judicial District Court yesterday. In early August, Kyle Giacometto broke into Big Sky Cycles on Main Street and took a Kawasaki motorcycle.

The plea was entered as part of an agreement with prosecutors. The State recommended that Giacometto receive 2-3 years in prison but suspend the sentence lieu of 3 years probation. Giacometto also agreed to make restitution for the motorcycle. He is scheduled for sentencing on December 15th.

Other cases in District Court include the guilty plea entered by 21-year-old Alyssa Schimka on three counts of forgery.

Schimka was captured on surveillance cameras stealing a check book from a counter at Wal-Mart. She then used a debit or credit card found in the check book and charged more than $200 worth of purchases to the card.

Schimka has asked for deferred prosecution in a deal with the state and may be sentenced to 5 years probation according to the agreement
