The Sheridan County Historical Society has announced that the Peter Kiewit Foundation has awarded them a grant in the amount of $22,500.
Mary Ellen McWilliams with the Historical Society says that they have already received a portion of the grant.
The Peter Kiewit Foundation is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and McWilliams explains why they continue to help fund projects in Sheridan.
McWilliams said that the money will be used to help pay for additional log work on the Sheridan County Museum, as well as garage renovation, work space and parking lot maintenance. The funds will also help support a part time building and ground supervisor for the Museum.
