It’s not very often that Sheridan County courts allow cameras and other recording devices into the courtroom. Friday was an exception as 8 new United States citizens were sworn in. 4th Judicial District Court Judge John Fenn explained to a crowded courtroom his feelings on the naturalization ceremony.
Service organizations from the Daughters of the American Revolution to the Veterans of Foreign Wars made presentations to our newest citizens and most included patriotic gifts.
Children from Martin Luther Grammar School sang several patriotic songs, including all the verses of the Star Spangled Banner.
A reception was held in the Sheridan County Courthouse for the new citizens right after the ceremony.
