Every school year beginning in October, Sheridan Fire-Rescue conducts monthly fire drills at all Sheridan County School District 2 schools throughout the year. SFR also provides fire safety training programs to all District 2 kindergarten through 5th grade classes. Fire Marshal Brian Songer explains the fire safety program.
Songer says that they always get a good response from the students, and the teachers as well.
Songer indicated that along with taking questions from the students, informational handouts are also provided so that the kids can take the message home to their families.
