We continue our Sheridan County year in review series with a look back at July through September. A suspect in a stabbing incident that took place at the Dunnuck Apartments in Sheridan died. Sheridan Police Lieutenant Chris Dahmke said that 43-year-old Brian Lester of Sheridan passed away a day after the incident where Lester stabbed 47-year-old Lisa Giambrocco multiple times during an argument over plants outside the apartment complex.

The Gilead Fire 10 miles northwest of Buffalo in the Bighorn National Forest was started by lighting August 14th. The fire burned over 8,000 acres and cost almost $3.5 million to fight the fire.

In September, the Wyoming Supreme Court upheld a Sheridan man's first-degree murder conviction in the January 2010 stabbing death of another man. The court rejected an appeal from 31-year-old Shawn Osborne, who's serving a sentence of life without parole.

The Historic Sheridan Inn closed its doors to the public due to a lack of funding to keep the building operational. Sheridan Heritage Center President Jake Brooks says it was a sad day.
