Lake DeSmet Counties Coalition Administrator Edith Johnson-LaMeres provided the Sheridan County Commissioners with an in depth update on Lake DeSmet Tuesday. Following her presentation, the Commissioners approved a resolution supporting the Coalition's ongoing efforts in negotiating with the Game and Fish on a proposed 99 year lease. A good portion of Johnson-LaMeres presentation consisted of the recently completed modeling of the lake that showed that under average conditions, there is enough water for the G&F lease and any possible industrial use in the future.
The Lake DeSmet Counties Coalition will hold their monthly meeting this Thursday at 4:30 pm in Buffalo at the Johnson County Planning Office.
