The first Sheridan County snowpack report of the water year has been released and the early outlook for the Tongue and Clear Creek drainages is very promising.
Sheridan County District Conservationist Andrew Cassiday with the Natural Resources Conservation Service gives us the details.
Cassiday says that if we continue to get snow periodically and the temperatures remain cool on the mountain, things should fare well this spring and early summer.
Cassiday said that February 1st snotel data on the other major basins around the state show the Powder-Tongue Basin as the highest in the state at 118% of average.
