With the National Weather Service predicting upwards of 4 inches of rain in the next several days, the likelihood of flooding in low lying areas in Sheridan County is anticipated.
Officials with Sheridan County and the City of Sheridan met Wednesday afternoon to discuss plans to handle such an event.
Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Coleman says that people need to plan ahead if they live in areas prone to flooding.
Coleman pointed out that sandbags are available at the City Shop at 1148 Kroe Lane on an as needed basis.
Ranchester and Dayton residents in need of sandbags should call their Town Hall; Story residents should go to the Story Fire Department. To report flooding conditions you can contact Coleman at 675-2569.
