Sheridan County Looking At Allowing Cluster Developments

Sheridan County adopted their comprehensive plan last year and they have been working to implement many of the recommendations made in the document. The plan encourages the preservation of open spaces as development occurs throughout the county. County Planner Mark Reid says the county is considering the allowance of cluster developments.

The County is contracting with Clarion Associates to assist in the drafting the necessary amendments to the County Subdivision Resolution. Clarion’s Lesli Ellis was one of the principle authors of the comprehensive plan.

Interviews are being conducted at the old Highland Park School with members of the public to get input on the proposed changes and find a way to adapt the concept for Sheridan County. The entire process could take up to nine months to complete.
