SHERIDAN COUNTY JUVENILE JUSTICE LOOKING FOR AGENCY TO PROVIDE DRUG AND ALCOHOL TREATMENT FOR JUVENILES
The Sheridan County Juvenile Justice Joint Powers Board was unable to take any action at their meeting Tuesday due to a lack of a quorum. However; the two board members that were present did hear an update on the juvenile drug and alcohol program. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.
Sheridan County Justice Office Administrator Neal Madson informed board members Tom Ringley and Joanne Schoen that WYSTAR would no longer be providing drug and alcohol treatment for juvenile's that come through the drug court program.
Madson said that the kids that are currently in treatment will remain with WYSTAR until the end of July, and that any new kids coming from drug court will receive counseling on an interim basis until the Justice Office hires a new treatment provider.
