There were 61 voting members who showed up this past weekend to vote in the Sheridan County Republican Straw Poll for the Republican presidential candidate. Of those 61 voters, 24 of them voted for Ron Paul, while Rick Santorum came in 2nd with 18 votes, followed by Mitt Romney with 17 and Newt Gingrich with only 2 votes. Sheridan County Republican Chairwoman Kathy Coleman.
While Paul may have won the straw poll in Sheridan County, it's Mitt Romney who has garnered most of the votes from other straw polls around the state says State Straw Poll Committee Chairman Bill Novotny.
Novotny said that most of the counties who've not conducted their straw polls will be doing so throughout this week except for Sweetwater County, who'll be the last to conduct theirs, as they'll be holding their straw poll Wednesday, February 29.
