Sheridan College has announced that they've selected KWN Construction as the Construction Manager at Risk for the new Academic Center. Qualification submittals for the CMAR were received from 10 companies and the Selection Committee interviewed five highly qualified teams. The Selection Committee included representatives from Sheridan College Administration and Board, the State Construction Division, Whitney Foundation and Sheridan College Foundation. The selection was based on rigorous criteria, and was a highly competitive process.
Sheridan College President Dr. Paul Young explains the benefits of having a CMAR for the project.
Project funding of $15.2 million provided by the State of Wyoming and Whitney Foundation allows for approximately 50,000 square feet of new construction and renovation. The New Academic Center will include classrooms, labs, student services, administration and a multi-purpose community space.
Design work for the New Academic Center at Sheridan College is underway with construction scheduled to begin in the spring of 2012 and to be completed for fall semester, 2013.
