At their meeting in Buffalo Thursday, the Northern Wyoming Community College District Board of Trustees got an update on enrollment at the Sheridan College in Johnson County campus from new Director Derek Andrews.
SCJC Advisory Board member Jack Tarter gave a brief report saying spring semester class schedules are out at the Buffalo campus, and that they had awarded scholarships this week to three Johnson County residents from money earned through their Rope For Knowledge event last summer.
Andrews said much of the campus' enrollment is through concurrent enrollment with Buffalo and Kaycee High Schools, with the percentage one of the highest in the state. Half of the students, or 179, are in the concurrent enrollment program through Buffalo and Kaycee High Schools.
He explains further.
Andrews said the Buffalo campus is a “one-stop shop” more so than they ever have been. Also, he said, the flier the college sent out this winter advertising their spring class schedules has contributed to the the higher enrollment numbers this spring.
