It's been a very busy yet exciting week for Sheridan College officials as last Thursday Whitney Benefits presented the College with a $7.6 million check to go toward the new Edward A. Whitney Academic Center that will be built on the College campus.
Then on Monday, the steering committee unveiled the design and exact location of the building, and Wednesday Sheridan College President Dr. Paul Young presented the program at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon.
During the program, Young showed those in attendance the design of the two-story $15 million state-of-the-art academic center. Young stated that construction of the building will require some changes to the existing facilities.
Young said that the road through the front of the College will be changing as well. Groundbreaking for the new Edward A. Whitney Academic Center will be held in March of next year with plans to have the building finished by the summer of 2013.
