Sheridan College Enrollment Up—Close To The Ceiling

Sheridan College Enrollment Up—Close To The Ceiling

With the first day of classes around the corner, the Northern Wyoming Community College District Board of Trustees met for their regular monthly meeting Thursday night.

One of the issues discussed is the shortage of instructors. Sheridan College President Dr. Paul Young says that because of revenue constraints, many classes are full because they were not able to add new instructors:

He says that overall enrollment is up around 5%.

In other college news, the Northern Wyoming Community College District announced last Thursday the new Dean of Enrollment Services is Sharon Elwood and the new Dean of Students is Carol Garcia.

Elwood has been employed by the District for nearly 25 years, serving in rolls such as the Director of Institutional Research, Registrar, and for the past three years has served as the Assistant Dean for Records and Research.

Garcia began her employment with Sheridan College in 1992.  She has served as the Director of Student Activities and Intramurals and was most recently serving as the Director of Student Engagement.

Both deans began their duties on Monday.
