The Sheridan City Council Monday night elected to table a request to rezone just over three acres of land northwest of Sheridan. The rezone request was from Developer Steve Grimshaw to change zoning on the property from R-1 residential to R-3 residential.

Grimshaw is proposing to build a 3-to-4 story 54-unit senior independent living facility on the property. City Councilman John Heath explains why he made the motion to table the item.

Another reason the Council voted to address the issue in a couple of weeks is because the developer was not present at the meeting, nor were any members from the public who spoke out in opposition of the rezone when the Planning Commission approved the item February 28th.

The three acres sit just east of where the Green House for Living in Sheridan cottages will be located. The City Council will address the issue at their next meeting Monday, April 4th.
