The Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners gave the go-ahead for a mini overhaul of some of the key infrastructure at the airport. Airport manager, John Stopka, got approval from the commissioners Tuesday for $2.6 million in Airport Refunding and Improvement Revenue Bonds to build more hangar space and add a self-fueling station after paying off bonds taken out in 2005. Commissioner, Tom Ringley, said having viable air service to Sheridan is an incremental part of attracting new businesses to the community.
In separate motions, the board agreed to grant easements to ACT communications to install an underground communication line and also the City of Sheridan to run a sewer line to the facility.
Finally, the commissioners awarded $48,000 to repair the airport's parking lot.
