A fire started by lightening Tuesday evening 13 miles north of Sheridan is extinguished.
The blaze ate up 158 acres of private land and sent plumes of smoke over town. Sheridan County fire warden, Bill Biastoch, said multiple agencies got involved to get the situation stamped out quickly
The fire was contained as of Wednesday afternoon, approximately one day after the situation was initially reported. Biastoch said the area will be monitored for the next four to five to days to make sure no new activity starts up.
