The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board has been considering altering its rules for several years and has limited recent changes to its rate structure. The Board held the second of three public hearings on the proposed rule changes Wednesday night at the Sheridan County Courthouse. The amendments do include another new rate structure that would make usage rates the same for all SAWS customers and reduce the top tier rates, as well. SAWS Board Chairman Tom Ringley says new concerns were raised that may affect original SAWS customers.
The next public hearing will take place at the February SAWS meeting on Wednesday, February 10th, 2010. The Board may take action on the changes at that same meeting following the hearing.
