Officials with the Dog and Cat Shelter of Sheridan have been working on providing a puppy nursery for the little ones for the past seven years. Shelter Executive Director Cel Hope says that a recent donation will hopefully get the project up and running.

Hope explains why having a puppy nursery at the Shelter is so important.

Hope said that the building would be separate from the Shelter facility and that when they don't have any puppies, they would use it as a quiet nursery for small dogs stressed by the noisy Shelter. Cel said that donations can be made to the Shelter by mail or by stopping by their location at 84 East Ridge Road.
