Sheridan Fire-Rescue responded to a structure fire at 735 South Canby Street shortly before 8 am Wednesday morning. Sheridan Fire Marshal Brian Songer explains the events that unfolded after firefighters arrived on the scene.

Fire crews used a fire hydrant at the intersection of Heald and Canby Streets to supply the fire engine. Heald Street was temporarily closed and traffic was re-routed to adjacent streets.

As far as the cause of the fire?

Songer said that the home sustained heavy fire damage to the contents and that substantial heat and smoke damage was suffered throughout the remainder of the home. Sheridan Fire-Rescue was assisted by the Sheridan Police Department, Goose Valley Volunteer Fire Department and Rocky Mountain Ambulance.
