71 Teams Compete in Tournament

This year's Battle-on-the-Blacktop 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament happened this past weekend in Buffalo and boasted 71 teams of all ages competing for sweatshirts and bragging rights for being the best in their age bracket.

The tenth annual two-day tournament, took over the courthouse parking lot, the south end of North Adams Ave. and the parking area of the old Clear Creek School.

Mike Quast, Director of the Johnson County Family YMCA, the main sponsor for the event, said the turnout was good again this year.

As Quast said, there were 71 teams from all over Wyoming, southern Montana and elsewhere competing in this year's tournament.

The winning adult male team was “The Railers” from Laramie and the top adult female team was F.S.U. from Cowley.

Adult male team: The Railers from Laramie.
Adult female team: F.S.U. from Cowley.
9th-10th grade girls: BigHorn from BigHorn.
9th-12th boys: BLT's from Buffalo.
8th grade boys: Cloud from Buffalo.
7th grade boys: Fight from Buffalo
7th and 8th grade girls: Jo's from Gillette.
6th grade boys: BigHorn Rams from BigHorn.
5th and 6th grade girls: Sheridan Classic from Sheridan.
5th grade boys: Diablos from Laramie.
4th grade boys: Worland.
3rd grade boys: Beasts from Sheridan.
3rd and 4th grade girls:Thunder from Sheridan.
