As the government shutdown enters its second full week, U.S. Senator Mike Enzi of Wyoming spoke on the Senate floor about a recent trip to the White House. The Senator explains that the trip was disappointing.
The Senator added that doing an all-inclusive spending bill is dangerous, because it would not allow lawmakers to make amendments to the bill. He went on to say that the appropriation process has twelve separate budgets, twelve separate spending bills, allowing lawmakers to look at each bill in more depth to get a better understanding of the spending that is going on.
