CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming voters could consider amending the state Constitution to try to block a federal requirement to purchase health insurance under a bill moving forward in the state Senate. The Senate voted 16-7 Friday in favor of a resolution sponsored by Cheyenne Republican Senator Leslie Nutting.
Concern over the government's ability to require citizens to purchase health insurance has mounted since the federal health care reform law was enacted last year. Wyoming recently joined a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the federal law's insurance mandate.
