Schools across Sheridan County held commencement ceremonies on Sunday afternoon. Sheridan Media's Chris Foy was at Sheridan High School and has the story.
As the band played bar after bar of "Pomp and Circumstance," Sheridan High School soon-to-be grads took their last formal steps on the Homer Scott Field, headed down the track towards their center field seats.
During her welcoming address, SHS principal Dirlene Wheeler offered some choice words of inspiration for the students - a sea of blue gowns, caps and the occasional sparkle from a home decorated cap.
Salutatorian Meghan Jacobs spoke to her peers next, followed by Jin Woo Kim – the valedictorian. All in all, there were a total of 194 graduating Sheridan High School seniors on Sunday's program. A welcome achievement made by those who were surrounded by bleachers full of loved ones, friends, peers - and the odd bullhorn.
