SD#2 Approves $50K for SEEDA Study Redo

The Sheridan County School District #2 board of trustees approved a request from Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority Chair, Dr. Paul Young, for an additional $50,000 in grant funds to build upon a Target Industries Study from 2007. Young explained to the board that he felt the initial study was incomplete.

Hollis Hackman, board trustee, raised the question regarding whether the funds were really necessary, or whether the information could be collected in other ways. Young provided an answer.

The board ultimately approved the grant funding request in hopes of aligning local educational programs with employers' needs.

All entities of SEEDA will have to approve the request for funding before the resources become available for the study.
