Hang out with members of the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office tonight at a free barbecue at the Story Fire Hall as they celebrate the National Night Out. SCSO Deputy Mandy Madry says that the event is their chance to spend some time with people around Sheridan County.
National Night Out is an annual event that promotes police-community partnerships nationwide in an effort to promote a safer country, according to their website nationaltownwatch.org. In the past five years that they have participated, SCSO has held the event at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds and in Ranchester and Dayton. Next year they will look to hold the event Dayton.
The barbecue that will include giveaways for kids will be from 6-8 tonight in Story.
