At a roundtable meeting of teachers of Sheridan County School District 2 and its Board of Trustees, Sheridan High School history teacher Kevin Rizer announced the results of an extensive study.
In addition to having the most staff responses ever, the district ranked the highest out of all participating districts in the state. Rizer explains.
Based on the survey, Rizer says that 95 percent of teachers say they belong at their school. Almost all of the district's teachers, 98 percent, say they believe student learning is relevant where they teach.
He says that there are many reasons why SCSD 2 is successful, from its hard working students to its dedicated staff.
Rizer says within district two, the main focus is the students and their learning - from kindergarden through 12th grade. But the work never ends. Rizer says the results of the study are a model for future growth and there are many ways to improve.
When it comes to fine tuning, Rizer says the district will look for ways to lessen the burden of technology costs and correct some minor salary issues.
