Sheridan's young generation is growing up, and Sheridan County School District #2 is responding by redistricting school assignment zones to provide maximum educational benefits to every student.
Scott Stults, director of elemantary education, said the schools are filling up fast.
Stults said the biggest capacity issues are at Sagebrush and Highland Park Elementary Schools, so most of the district changes focus on those areas. Although there will be an adjustment period, Stults is confident ithe long-term benefits are worth it.
Stults clarified that students with older brothers or sisters who were assigned to a different school before the redistricting will be allowed to attend the same school their big siblings did. However, parents will be responsible for their transportation each day.
