Members of Sheridan County School District 2 met with Sheridan area legislators Monday night for their annual forum held prior to the legislative session in January.
Sheridan County School District 2 Superintendent Craig Dougherty.
District 2 advocated for lessening the state testing burden on schools, and they asked that legislators not support PAWS as a method of teacher evaluation. Also, they stood behind their high-teacher salaries saying that they correlate directly with school and student success.
Sheridan Representative Rosie Berger says that they value the forum from their end as well.
Representatives Mike Madden, Jon Botten, John Patton, and John Schiffer also participated in the forum.
District 2 also asked that legislators give high priority to capital construction projects the district has planned to make up for increasing enrollment. District 2 plans to rebuild a larger Coffeen elementary in a few years.
