SCSD#2 Endorses Healthy Classroom Rewards

The days of cake and ice cream parties at school may be a thing of the past in Sheridan.

The Sheridan County School District #2 board of trustees approved a resolution that if students receive food rewards at school for exceptional academic or behavioral performance, it must be healthy. Scott Hininger, chairman of the board of trustees, said he thinks any food reward should be used sparingly.

The board did not elaborate on which foods are healthy enough for the school environment.
