We previously reported that Sheridan County School District 1 was planning to build a bigger elementary school to accommodate more students than Tongue River Elementary currently does.
District 1 Superintendent, Marty Kobza, says they already have plans in mind and a plot of land selected for the brand new school in Ranchester.
He says the committee decided to look at other elementary schools across the state and have a prototype based on those in Cody and Buffalo.
By using that strategy and prototypes based on other elementary schools in the state, Kobza says the functionality of the buildings has already been evaluated in the value engineering process. But he says the district still has the freedom to make the new elementary school its own.
