Sheridan County School District #1's business manager, Jeremy Smith, reported to the board of trustees that investigators have ruled out arson as the cause of the district's bus barn fire a few weeks ago.
He said state fire inspectors and three different insurance agencies are looking into the incident.
Smith elaborated that after criminal activity was ruled out, the case became a lower priority to investigators, but as the two-week deadline approaches, some information has been released regarding what might have started the blaze.
Along with the bus barn building, which was being leased by the school from the Apostolic Lutheran Church, three vehicles went up in flames as well. Luckily, the district's five large busses were parked elsewhere and were not lost. However, the district did loose 30 years of maintenance and historical records regarding school vehicles. The State of Wyoming Fire Inspector's official report is due Thursday.
