As Sheridan County School District No. 1 settles into the new school year, one thing they will focus on will be implementing a Common Core Curriculum, in an effort to make sure all students are given every chance to improve in areas where they might struggle. District 1 Superintendent Marty Kobza gave an example of what that means.
He went on to explain how a lot of the new system will be about accountability at all levels.
He added that these types of standards aren't a complete change from how District 1 operated in the past because he said that they have had have high standards. However, he said that something like Common Core standards are more “robust” than those found around the rest of the state.
Last week, in several different stories we took a look at Sheridan County School District No. 2, this week we move on to Sheridan County School District No. 1.
