Based on the growing numbers of kindergarteners within Sheridan County School District Two, the State Facilities Commission has allocated funds for the district to purchase land for an additional elementary school. District Two Superintendent, Craig Dougherty, explains.
Dougherty says over the past five to six years, the numbers of kindergarteners has jumped from 199 to this year's number of 324 current students. He says this dramatic rise can be attributed to a number of factors.
According to Dougherty, the State Facilities Commission appropriates all funds for major maintenance and capital construction.
