4th of July at the Equestrian Center

Another community 4th of July celebration got off with a 'bang' Monday as thousands gathered at the Equestrian Center for one of the greatest fireworks displays in the area. The fireworks dovetailed with a musical simulcast on Sheridan's rock station Z94.

Commissioners Approve Large Rezone Northwest of Dayton

County Commissioners approved the Dayton Northwest Lands rezone Tuesday.

Part of the Sheridan County Comprehensive Plan that was adopted in 2008 called for a large rezone of land Northwest of the Town of Dayton.

Domestic Dispute Ends in Fatality

A media release from Detective Lt. Chris Dahmke at the Sheridan Police Department indicates that at approximately 7:55 p.m. on Monday, July 4th after responding to a domestic disturbance on the 100 block of west Nebraska Street, a 23-year-old male was shot by police after an altercation.

Hand in Hand's Failure Still May Be Investigated

The Hand in Hand Childcare Center in Sheridan now sits vacant after closing in June.

During last week's SEEDA Board meeting, it was discussed that perhaps an investigation or some type of exit interview process be conducted on the Sheridan Quality Child Care Initiative Board to determine exactly what went wrong that lead to the Center closing in early June.
